2013 into 2014

Once again it has been a few months since I have updated the blog. Time just seems to get away from me. As previously mentioned, there were so many things to look forward to...and now, most of them have passed and were so enjoyable...and then there are a few that still remain...Like our baby is still due in March and thankfully has not arrived yet, it is still cooking. To wrap a few things up...For Halloween, we went up to our friends house in Lincoln and ate yummy food, went trick or treating and spent time chatting with friends. For Thanksgiving, we had a lovely day with my parents, preparing food and enjoying a day off. For Christmas, we visited Tadd's family in Phoenix Arizona. We had a very nice trip and it was really great to spend time with his family over the holidays. The end of the year always seems to get so busy, but in the best possible way.

So now that we have moved into 2014...the highlights so far have been...

1. Katie's wedding. It was wonderful. The whole weekend in Florida went flawlessly. We arrived on Friday morning after a long red eye flight and got to hang around the hotel while we waited to check into our room. We then participated in the rehearsal and then went to Season's 52 for the rehearsal dinner. Saturday was a full day of getting ready for the big wedding. Katie, Jill, my mom and I, as well as the bridesmaids and hair and makeup ladies, lounged around in the "Breeze" room at the hotel. We listened to music, snacked a little, got ready and got ready some more. Then...things started happening! Katie and Dennis decided to do the "first look" before the actual wedding, which was really special for them. Once that was done, we were able to take lots of pictures before the wedding which was nice because it saved time after the ceremony so that we could participate in the cocktail hour. Moving into the reception...it was a total success. The first dance was perfect, all the speeches were amazing and Jill and I totally pulled off a rap for our speech! Then we ate some delicious food and danced the night away! Sunday we had a brunch upstairs in the hotel and got to relive the night before. Lots of family and friends took off that day, while Tadd and I headed to Boca Raton with my Grandma Bella to spend our final night at her house before heading out on Monday. Overall, the weekend was fun filled and a complete success. All the Oddo girls are officially married off!

2. Tadd and I got maternity photos taken by some of our friends, Jon and Steph Alston of JSA photography. We went into old town Folsom and spent an hour or so taking some fun pictures to remember our first baby before it is revealed in March! We got some good ones to put in the house and save for our memories!

3. We picked up our Glider Chair from Buy Buy Baby! It is so plush and comfy...I can't wait to enjoy cuddle time with my little one in this chair! It is simple and grey but totally functional and we are just now trying to determine when to get the ottoman! We also reorganized the nursery so that all the furniture will fit and hopefully soon we can wash everything and put it all in place to be used by Baby Barnett!

4. We are still putting in final touches to our house and the more we do, the more the house comes together! A few things that we have gotten or done...
-Family Room Curtains
-Family Room Rug
-Master Bath Towel  hangers

Additional plans in the works....

-New smaller coffee table
-Grommets in the curtains
-Chair cushions and covers
-Nursery Wall Decor

And the list could go on and on...but for now, we will leave it at that and I will post completed pictures as it happens!

So far 2014 has been treating us really good and of course this year will only get better as March is quickly approaching!
