6 years of marriage to my main squeeze Tadd! So lucky to call him my husband, best friend &
confidant. I love that he is such a great dad, an incredibly hard worker & a dedicated church goer!
He is so handsome, funny, athletic, helpful, understanding and overall a great man to spend eternity with! Loving every chapter of our lives together!

2 months!!!
Liam Michael is 2 months old! Can you believe it! It is going so fast! Some highlights of the last few months!
1. Liam is definitely catching up from his birth weight of 5lbs....he is 10 lbs 15oz now, and totally filling out! He is in the 20 percentile which is obviously on the low side but when comparing to early babies, he is in the 90th percentile!!
2. He is so alert and active now. He kicks, and swats and smiles and coos! He is so adorable and gets more and more adorable every time I look him (Im not obsessed or anything!)
3. We are trying to get on a more consistent schedule for daytime into night so he will sleep better and longer at night. Still a work in progress. He will still wake up a couple times at night, but we are rolling with it and keeping him happy and hopefully as the weeks go on, he will learn to love nighttime sleep!
4. He has grown out of all his newborn outfits! He started in preemie for about a week and then was in newborn clothes until about 5-6 weeks. And for the last few weeks we have been transitioning from his newborn clothes to his 0-3 months clothes!
5. He is extremely happy and has a great disposition. He sleeps pretty soundly, then he gets up and is happy after he eats. But he rarely actually cries (probably because I am overly prepared for the next thing he wants) which is really nice!
He got his immunization shots at this two month appt, it was devastating! He got three shots in his thighs and one drink. He cried like crazy and then after a little cuddling, he fell asleep! Still had a slightly rough day but is now back to his old self!

Liam's Baby Blessing
What a special day! Sunday March 30, 2014 at 9:00am Liam was blessed at our church building in Roseville. Tadd did such a great job. Liam looked adorable in his perfect white outfit. In the circle we had Tadd, Kirk, Mike Atherly, Garry Sewell and my Dad was able to hold the microphone for the blessing. Tadd said such a wonderful blessing for our perfect son Liam. Liam was so well behaved, he barely made a peep besides a sneeze that snuck out! We are so thankful for our friends that came to his blessing day including the Sewells, the Atherlys, the Alstons, and our parents!!! What a good day to remember!

Baby Items I Love
As I have recently had my first child, 7 weeks ago already! I thought I would put together a list of the most important things to have! If you were to ask me 7 weeks ago, I would have no idea and probably said lots of things that would not make the list now. I have 9 Items pictured but in reality there are like 4 things that I use like crazy! Those will be at the top of the list!
1. Pampers newborn diapers & wipes (obviously)
2. Aden & Anais burpy bibs (Liam required a bottle right away hence the big bib/burp cloth!)
3. Snap or zipper footsie Jammie's (the only attire he rocks and this is because it is so convenient to
Change diapers and get on and off without going over his head!)
4. Britax car seat (duh! Can't go anywhere without this gem)
5. City Mini GT jogger stroller- it's super smooth and closed and opens in seconds)
6. Graco swing- total life saver for when he was just 5lbs and felt too small to
Go in the big crib!
7. Mamaroo- my parents have this awesome swing and Liam is a sucker for it. Can't lay in it without sleeping like a champ!
8. Medela breast pump- a must have for me as my little one wasn't latching, I needed the stimulation to produce Milk and now with being back to work, I still can provide the good stuff for my babe!
9. The boppy pillow- this pillow is awesome for nursing, or just for a little arm support while holding my little nugget!

The Details of Delivery
Family and friends were gathering the weekend of Liam's unknown arrival for my baby shower hosted by my mom and two sisters. On Friday the 7th, the four of us chopped, separated, designed, organized, prepped, decorated (and any other word you can think of for a baby shower) for my perfect shower that was to be occurring promptly at 11:00 am on Saturday the 8th!
Friday evening, my parents, Tadd and I, Katie, Dennis and Jill all went out to a yummy Italian dinner at Viscontis! We totally pigged out on salad, pasta, garlic bread, and dessert, then headed home and relaxed and spent time catching up. Then, I headed home to get prepped for my big day on Saturday. I took a bath, painted my toenails (which i could hardly reach), organized my hospital bag for some reason...then hit the sack to get some much needed zzz's! (p.s. Tadd went over to a friend's house and before he went I had mentioned that maybe we should put the pak n' play together and he said that we could do it on Saturday-now of course this is ironic and funny because who would have thought that we really did need the pak n' play put together?!)
*WARNING* This is the beginning of my labor and delivery story...so beware. Around 2:00am Saturday morning, I went to the bathroom and something was a little off with the amount of fluid. But with sleep on the brain, I returned to bed. Then at 7:45am, I awoke and went to the bathroom again, like a normal pregnant person and once again...too much fluid?!? So, I called my Mom and then called the hospital to see if I should stop by and have them check it out. So, Tadd and I took our time getting ready and headed to the hospital in separate cars as we had separate plans that day. We checked in and were put in a delivery room and I changed into hospital garb and met our lovely nurse Amy! She asked lots of questions and explained a few things to us. Then she did the exam. Most likely a ruptured water is what she said, but then she said the Dr. would come check and just to hang out. So we continue to chat with her, and before she left the room to get the Dr., Tadd asked her if we would be leaving the hospital at which point she said, NO. When you leave the hospital you will have your newborn baby with you!!!!! Insert big eyes and dropped jaws on Tadd and Kelly's face here! And maybe some panicked tears from me! I called my mom and told here that I was going to be having in baby in the next 24-48 hours and that I would not be leaving the hospital which meant that I would not be attending my very own shower that was to occur in roughly 2 hours. So...my mom and sisters went into OCD Oddo mode and took care of business. They contacted all invited guests and told them the news. They took down the beautiful decorations and packed up the food and other goodies. Then they came to visit us in the hospital and brought with them some flowers, balloons and snacks to have a semi shower in the hospital.
Before my family arrived the Dr. on call was Dr. Scates and he had confirmed that my water had ruptured and that we would start pitocin at 12:00 noon as I was only a 1cm and hardly effaced. As the day continued, I was pretty comfortable and lots of friends visited which was super nice! Around 4pm I started to feel some contractions more, even though it was bearable. Then around 8pm I got my epidural! The night continued, I ate lots of jello, chicken broth and pudding! Slept, relaxed, chilled and just sat in my hospital bed waiting for our nugget to arrive! Around 12:15 am three nurses came in and I woke up. I guess babies heart rate had dropped because I had had a series of contractions and the baby was not able to recover properly. I was taken off pitocin and given oxygen to relax and let the baby recover. Around 12:45 am I was then put back on pitocin and the plan went back to normal, waiting for baby Barnett to arrive. At 12:30 I was only 2cm so we figured it would be quite a while, so I went back to sleep....UNTIL, 4am, when I awoke with some serious pain in my lower right abdomen. I paged the nurse and she said that I can push the epidural button multiple times as long as they are 15 minutes apart. Two times later, I paged the nurse again and she paged the anesthesiologist. He gave me some more medication and then I was a happy girl, no more contraction pain! Then she checked me again and much to our surprise 9.5 cm!!!! Baby was ready, and so was I. Everything go situated and my nurse Erin taught me how to push. With her guiding me, I began to push...then she told me to stop and told us to call the family! Our baby was not going to wait around for much longer! About 15 minutes later, after everyone arrived, Dr. was in place, family was in place, and roughly 6 pushes later, our perfect baby boy was welcomed into the world! Tadd cut the umbilical cord and they placed him on my chest and he quietly stared into my eyes and he was perfect!!! All his stats were perfect and he was just a tiny little guy but just as healthy as can be. We are so happy to have Liam in our family!

Five Weeks Early Surprise
As previously posted, our perfect little boy was born on February 9th which was just about 5.5 weeks before he was due to be born...so you could say we were a little bit surprised. There are a number of memorable events that went along with Mr. Liam's arrival, all good and all mentioned below in reverse order. Another post will cover the details.
1. Liam Michael Barnett was born on Sunday February 9th 2014 at 5:07 am.
2. My baby shower was to occur on Saturday February 8th 2014 at 11:00 am.
3. My hospital visit began on Saturday February 8th 2014 at 9:00 am.
4. My water broke on Saturday February 8th 2014 at 2:30am
5. My two sisters and brother in law arrived earlier in the week to celebrate my baby shower.
Best Surprise Ever...and here is why.
1. Liam was 5lbs 4oz when he was born and healthy!!!
2. My active pushing labor lasted roughly 30 minutes
3. My epidural was pure genius
4. My whole family was here for Liam's birth
5. I was able to meet my perfect son 5 weeks early and he was healthy!
6. Tadd and I agreed on a name
7. Friends came to visit in the hospital and brought shower gifts!
8. My nurses were amazing, Amy and Erin
9. Dr. Scates did a great job with my delivery
10. Tadd and I have a perfect son and we are an eternal family of 3 now!
