Friday night

Last night, Tadd and I joined my parents and their friends along with our friend Lauren at an Italian restaurant in Folsom and enjoyed some delicious garlic bread, soup, salad and pizza. After dinner, we went to see Slumdog Millionaire which we heard so many good things about. It truly was a great movie. It was like no other movie I have ever seen and really makes you grateful for what you have. Tadd was able to find some really great meaning within the movie, including Love Conquers All, Destiny is Real, and his favorite, Those who honor God, God will honor. We all thoroughly enjoyed the movie and had a fun evening out! Now, Saturday, was a lounge day. I had to work in the morning, and then I got home and slept for lots of hours, and woke up and Tadd was sleeping on the couch. A nice and relaxing day to prepare for the Sabbath.

Tadd just finished his first week of work!!! He is so happy to be back in the workforce and he actually really likes his job. He is a property manager for a storage facility just 2 minutes away from our house. He is also going to be doing some marketing for the company and anything else that they need. He has been searching for a job so diligently and has kept such a positive attitude despite these trying economic times. I am so excited and proud of him.

Young Women in Excellence

Tonight, the young women put on a Pageant of Excellence to share what they have accomplished in their personal progress. It was such a wonderful night. All the girls wore formal dresses and looked so pretty and were able to share an experience that was meaningful to them and how it increased their testimony. It was a fun evening and something I was glad I could be a part of. Pictures of these beautiful girls to come...

February 14, 2009

Happy Valentine's Day!!! Tadd always has something up his sleeve no matter what for every holiday. He is such a romantic and I love it! So Valentine's morning we both had plans at 10am, so we went and ran our errands and then when I get back and he returns, he brings me a beautiful, single, long stem yellow rose and then tells me that my other present is hiding in the house! He brings me a box, and within it is a book entitled the LOVE DARE. It comes from the movie Fireproof and it is a sweet message expressed within. It is a 40 day challenge to put your spouse first and focus on the Lord and what is truly important. I thought it was such a great message that I told Tadd I wanted the book, and of course, he remembers and bought it for me. We then went out to an early dinner at Mikuni, a sushi restaurant, with three of my girlfriends, and got some of the best sushi we have had in a long time.

The Final 3

So, Monday came and went as did Naomi on the Bachelor that night. It was a very fun and exciting show full of fun families and uncomfortable situations. Sadly, Naomi was left without a rose in the end....now there are only three left. I am rooting for Jillian, if you cant tell which the slightly enlarged picture in the last post!

The Bachelor

Tomorrow at 8pm Jason will be visiting four hometowns to meet family and friends, or not. He will have to determine which of these four women he will ask to "accept a rose." We are coming to the end and the proposal is near. Tadd and I and a few friends, Lauren and Jen, have differing opinions on who the leading horse is, but we all were right in the top four.

2009 is flying....

Wow...time is flying by. I cannot believe it is already February. Things have gotten a little bit busier and a definitely more routine. Since my sister Katie left as well as her boyfriend on the 19th of January, things have settled a bit. I started work on the 20th at University of Phoenix in Rancho Cordova and have been working there for the past ten days now. Tadd is still working on findind a good position for him while he waits to start a business with my Dad. We both recently were called in our ward. I am the 1st counselor in the Young Womens Presidency and oversee the Mia Maids. Tadd is the Assistant Teachers Quorum Advisor and is able to work with the Young Men in our ward. Our typical schedule during the week includes the Bachelor on Monday nights with Lauren and Jen...Tuesday night is mutual and I have signed up for a competitive womens indoor soccer league. Wednesday night we are enrolled in an institue class teaching about Jesus' parables. Thursday night, I have to work late and Friday and Saturday are days to hang out and catch up from the busy week. Right now, Mom and Dad are in Hawaii enjoying the nice weather and taking some time to lounge by the beach. We are holding down the fort and taking care of the chores and animals in this beautiful house. Besides that, we have watched a few good movies, ate at a new sushi restaurant, and I am starting to train for a half marathon with a new friend that I met at work. That is the update on our exciting life right now. Hopefully, I can add some fun pictures soon!
